World grieve for this incident.
A string of terrorist attacks by Kurdish and Islamic State militants have hit Turkey over the past two years, and the government barely survived a failed coup attempt by a rogue faction of the military last summer.
The fresh carnage, in which 38 people were killed and 155 others were injured, threatened to further destabilize a nation already roiled by regional wars and domestic crises.

Turkish officials on Sunday vowed to avenge the deaths of dozens of people who were slain in twin bombings in Istanbul the night before in a brazen attack that the government blamed on Kurdish militants waging a decades-long war for autonomy.

Soylu said the attack started with a car bomb that targeted a group of riot police posted at the stadium after a soccer match earlier Saturday evening, according to local media reports. The second explosion, which authorities attributed to a suicide bomber, happened less than a minute after the first, in a throng of police officers, Soylu said.

The pro-Kurdish People’s Democracy Party (HDP), whose members have been elected to Turkey’s parliament, condemned the attack in a statement Sunday.
Turkish security forces have recently targeted many HDP leaders, including the party’s two co-chairs, for arrest, claiming the lawmakers have ties to Kurdish militants.
